How do the rear bumpstops come off? Do they unscrew, or are they bolted on?

The Yota. If the Ramcharger hits the bumpstops the springpacks probably broke

On a coil-sprung 4Runner, they prevent the spring collapsing enough to let the shock fully collapse. Bumpstops save shocks. I think they are glued on. Really. Mine fell off.

With aftermarket springs, you may not need them.

Ha, not good. I need to take them off to get the springs off a little more easily. Hell, they very well may be glued on. Matt, did you replace them after they fell off? Any problems?

I never did, I have had no problems. I'd need to treat the rust then epoxy the bumpstops back on.

For anyone searching, the rear bump stops on a coilsprung 4runner can be removed by sticking a 12mm deep well socket into the hole on the bottom, and taking out one bolt. Easy. Definitely use a deep well socket, or you will end up losing your socket inside the bumpstop, it's a tight fit.

This makes installation of lift springs, or coil spacers MUCH easier.

I just left mine off, if I end up bottoming out and ruining shocks, I'll set up a bumpstop system on the frame or axle.
