Rapid decrease in speed when letting off gas pedal?
 

Got a problem where when you let off the gas pedal in my 91 toyota 2wd pickup the truck wants to slow down quicker than it should, doesn't really coast. I'm thinking the throttle body cable needs adjusting? anyone got a better idea on this situation? thanks..

Brake caliper sticking maybe :dunno:

That would be my guess too. Brakes sticking. I had one caliper sieze on me and a master go a few months later,

Yep sounds like a bad caliper. I just had to replace mine. Jack up the front end and try turning the wheels and see if there is any drag.

could be a few things..... however its probably the brakes as the culprit...

the throttle body cabe would have nothing to do with it, even if it was too tight or too loose, they wouldnt make the car slow down too fast... check rear drum adjustment, and check the fornt pads for any irregular wear, its also possible the bearings oare preloaded too much on the front, and that will not only fry the bearings in short order, but would also create more friction that what should be normal

If it is a brake dragging, try driving 5-10 miles at a decent speed w/o braking. Then coast to a stop and hop out and feel all 4 wheels. If a brake is dragging, it'll feel hot to the touch.

Might also be the dashpot on the throttle body. Its purpose is to slow the throttle closing speed when you back off the gas. Maybe that has broken or stuck to where your throttle plate slams shut faster than it used to.

how would i check and where exactly is the dashpot?

Underneath the throttle body on the passenger side. It is a mini shock absorber for the throttle linkage. See:
