I'm not sure, but I don't think the 3.0, in stock trim, handles forced air induction. The headgaskets are already a weak spot, and remember that if you get all that air in, you have to get it all out, too.

You're better off with the 3.4 swap. Easier, cheaper, and faster.

Im sure you could do it but beforehand you would need to upgrade to a much stronger metal head gasket, and also much stronger head bolts to help it not fail. If it were me i would do that and then get some oversized valves and stage 2 cams, then i think it would be a capable build.

3.OLD TURBOED OR NOT...STILL SUCKS.

It's like trying to make a Model T into a Ferrari. I just don't git it.

I think I will git a Ford instead.

Do a search.. there is someone that successfully turbo'd a 3.0L.
Fuel/timing management is the key - this individual was using an additional injector which was fired only under boost. The ECU was megasquirt, basically configured as a piggyback. It would adjust to a specific desired A/F ratio.

The 3.0L has a head gasket issue, turboing it could cause additional issues. MLS (metal) head gaskets are a good idea.

Do a search, the gains on the stock 3.0 were impressive. Decide what's more work to you vs doing the swap...
