question about shackles

I just put 63 chevies on my truck and one side sits at least an inch higher than the other side. I am thinking of keeping one 6" shackle and shortening the other one to 4" to level the truck. Would there be any problems with doing this?
The front sits level. It is only the rear I am worried about.

Is it differant on one side cause one of the 63's are wore out? I wouldnt see maken one shackel longer/shorter than the other theres prob something up with the leaf pack on the side that is low. just my opinion

with one shackle shorter then the other it will make the rear suspension travel in different ways from side to side. would probably make for a very interesting and scary ride.

Fix the problem, don't pour gasoline on it.

Your springs are worn out, your mounts not symmetrical side to side or somebody really fat rides on the that side :hillbill:

i vote the fat chick as the problem

I don't have a fat chick it must been the previous owner of the springs. They came from the junkyard. But thanks for the info guys

X2. measure to make your your mounts got welded in the right place. is your shackle angle the same? did both springs come off the same truck?
