Québec law on lifted trucks

New law in Québec for SUV's and pick-ups :
Max tire size over stock 3"
Max mechanical lift 2.5"
Max pneumatic lift ( as in contact patch to centerline of wheel ) 1.5"
Max overall lift combined : 4.0"

Good thing I bought the 33's as I was tempted to do some 35's !

So I'll be doing a 1.5" ball joint spacer with relaxed torsions
Lower my body lift to 2" from the 3" that came on truck ( glad for that )
Run my 33's on a 15 x 8 alloy with near stock backspace and
Jungle Flares to tuck the wheel a bit.

This will be legal enough to avoid issues with the police.
I'll be carrying a printed copy of the SAAQ document to
show and tell the cops.

Sad news for Quebecers, you heard it first on Yotatech !

Inches? In Québec? Sacre bleu!

Is this the document to which you refer? http://www.saaq.gouv.qc.ca/documents...f_artisan.html (apparently updated sometime in 2013)

Oui, hahaha !
Yes the guys just got wind of it on the Quebec forum.
Cops are doing their spring safety crackdown and rigs
are getting taken off the road in droves.

Based on these rules, all toyota 4runners/ tacomas are illegal in quebec:
27. A neutral start
An automatic transmission vehicle must be fitted with a neutral start which cuts the starter current on all speed selections, except for the neutral (N) or P (Park).
A manual transmission vehicle must be equipped with a device for engine start only when the clutch pedal is pressed or when the gear lever is in neutral.
