pulling codes on 95 4runner?

How do I get the codes from a 95 4runner with the 3.0? Is it the same as a 22re where you jump the connectors in the diagnostic connector, and watch the CEL flash? thanks

I've read a ton of articles about where to short the terminals but nowhere on what this tranlates to in an error? Can anyone help me, I have a 1995 3.0 auto that runs like total crap, misfires but so did a 1990 I had, has no power (so did the 1990 but not like this, strong exhaust smel) and it has around 130K on it. I know it has "codes" I just dont know what they mean....help! BTW, new plugs, wires, and cleaned the intake and electronics with the appropriate cleaners.

Thanks!

and these codes are not 100% for all the years implied. When you pull your codes, post them so we can help you figure it out.

someone should make a writeup on the codes, their meanings, and the usual suspects of what need to get looked at...
