PS Hose Part Number Help
 

I have 93 P/U SR5 Xtra Cab with anti lock brakes, and I'm looking for the S hose between the ABS pump thing and the power steering return hard lines. Mine is factory original and I don't see it on any part listings.

Can anyone help with a Toyota part number, or a lead on a suitable replacement? With the tight space and sharp bends, I'd prefer to have one purpose build instead of jamming some trans line in there and hoping it doesn't restrict.

Where does that hose attach? Is it a pre-formed hose or just bulk hose on your rig?

The one you want is the 44413B, But you can use PS hose that fits from your local autoparts store.

The 44411 is the real critical one to get from a dealer.

Suggestion for replacing ether one is to pick up some heaterhose that the PS hose will fit into to use as a protective jacket.

Also while your at it if you have leaking from under the bowl (resivour) replace the Oring since your making a mess already and peace of mind, Cheap at dealer.

It's the return lines that are about shot and leaking. The O rings on the pressure lines have already been replaced. It's leaking from the non pressure hoses as they've finally just deteriorated after 20 years and are no longer forming a tight seal. Both the 44413B and the S line appear to be linking -- noticed fluid and accompanying rust on my new idler arm coming from the ps return hoses...

Yes, I have the 44413B on order, which goes from the the fill reservoir to the ABS assembly. The hose from the ABS assembly to hard lines that run under the radiator.

It's the hose in bottom left between 44402E and 44410 parts. From ABS it goes straight out (from ABS towards radiator), then back (towards engine), then up (towards sky), then back slightly (towards engine), and then straight into hard line.

Because of the sharp turns and tight space there, I would prefer -- and think it's needed to ensure no kinks/pinching -- a preformed hose/part as it was originally supplied...

Yes, aftermarket trans hose would be appropriate, but again the concern with the line pinching, etc. Surely someone else has replaced and has a part number?!

44412 has several part numbers on the toyotaoverstock link. I suspect one may be for the tube you are looking for. Have you tried your local Toyota dealer's part desk using the vin? Any chance your engine and other mechanicals have been swapped at some point?

Nope, it's nearly all factory. Anything on the engine has been OEM.

I've checked all the return hoses listed in both the parts diagram and ToyoDIY.com (this is great -- lists all possible part numbers ever available, even if no longer, and looks you up by VIN). Here's the PS Hose for my rig: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_199...PGEA_4503.html

The two returns are the ones from reservoir to ABS and then from hard line to pump. The 44412 is from the hard line to pump on the driver's side (leak is on passenger side).

My dealer's part desk *tries* to help, but with hard to find parts, I've find these boards much more helpful... They just look at their charts and if they don't have it send you to parts yards and whatnot.

I did not. It's just showing fluid there, but not dripping yet so not a huge rush for me. The one hose I did replace, I used the stock clamp which cut in the hose and caused new leaks (fortunately I had room to get a band clamp on before that clamp and stop the leak -- something to watch out for if doing your own). So now I'm planning to replace all of my PS lines as that hose was the only one that's been replaced an it's vulnerable...

Again, to your question -- the useless parts guys at my local Toyota (countless times they've told me items aren't available that are or have ordered the wrong part several times -- I only go there if I anticipate a return nowadays due to not being able to identify with certainty items in parts diagrams [they allow returns w/o restock fees] and otherwise order online) told me it would be on the hard line part number if I ordered that one... Which I considered because I'm a perfectionist.

But looking at that part number in the online parts catalogs, that hose doesn't appear in most shared/common vehicles/catalogs, so it doesn't appear to be.

I still need to get my local auto store(s) let me peruse their stock molded tranny/power steering hoses and see if I can find one that would work, but worst case, I've concluded that at least one, probably two, possibly 3, of the Gates unicoils will work for me with a standard PS/tranny hose -- pretty confident it's 3/8" hardline it needs to connect to, but need to get out the calipers to double check.
