Procomp shocks and steering stabilizer
I needed longer shocks up front to use the ball joint spacers I got, so I ordered some ES3000 for the front--while I was at it I ordered the ES2000 steering stabilizer. I was going to save for the OME stabilizer, but for under $30. I figured I couldnt go wrong. It is a direct bolt on according to Procomp.
Anybody running these?? Impressions? |
Funny you should post this - I was wondering the same thing just yesterday...OME steering stabilizer is over 80 bucks no matter where I get it once S&H comes into effect. That seems like a lot for a steering stabilizer.
Even if the ProComp wore out after a year (not too likely) - you would have to replace it about 3 times before it cost more to go that route than a OME. |
I was thinking I would take the $27 gamble--it must be better than my stock one with 122,000 hard miles on it.

I'm running the Procomp shocks and stabilizer. I can't really say much about the shocks because the previous owner put them on so I have nothing to compare them too. I can say that they have worked well for the 20K miles I've put on them.
I just recently installed the ss. Install was pretty easy. You can read about it with pics here. :bounce: |

I ordered mine from summit but had a $15 gift certificate. I think my total was like $33 with the ss and boot.

I bought one (2nd gen P/N: 219500) today from 4Wheel Parts here in Dallas for $29.95 carry out. I stopped at Autozone to borrow a pickle fork and it took about 15-20 mins to install. Hardest part was separating the factory pin from the steering linkage but lucky for me in came loose with about a dozen good hits with my claw hammer.
Very nice driving it around so far, I haven't been off road with it yet but the on road aspects of it are a nice improvement over the tiny and wore out factory stabilizer. This Procomp is a very beefy unit compared to the stock one. I am happy with the price and performance especially for 50 bucks less than an OME. :) |
OME SS all the way baby...

I'm running Pro Comp ES9000's and a Pro Comp ES2000 steering stabilizer, and they ride great. Steering rules.
