I'm going to be doing a rebuild on my truck within the next year or two. I don't want a new crate engine, as those are too expensive. I can't save money for the rebuild, because that's the way I am. I'd rather have the money and buy the parts I will need.

I was looking at engnbldr parts, and making a list of what I can purchase ahead of time. I need some help filtering out what shouldn't be bought ahead of the rebuild.

So far, pistons and rings are the only things I can think of that I won't buy until I get the cylinders bored and honed. What else shouldn't I get? Will I need new wristpins, rods & mains or should I stick with the stock ones I have?
