Power Window Conversion

Hello All, I have a 1992 Toyota 4wd Extended Cab truck. I am looking into converting my manual windows to power. Now I know that I could just buy an aftermarket kit like the spals, but the window regulators now are a little rough around the edges and I thought about just buying the oem power window motors and regulators for my truck. I know that I wont have the associated wiring, relays, etc but my intention is to use an aftermarket switch kit anyway, therefore I am not worried about wiring. What I cant seem to find out is this: Will power window regulators from an originally equipped toyota truck work on mine? As an alternative, will the power window regulators from a similar year 4 runner work? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

Yes, the regulators from the 90-95 trucks and 4runners will fit. Note that there are two window types - with wing vents and without. The regulators *might* be different for those, but I don't think so.

There are also aftermarket kits that come with regulator assemblies rather than using motors to drive the manual regulators. WAY cheaper than new OEM stuff.

you could also try an auto wreckers and rull it all, then it will all be "factory"

Thanks, I am actually looking at some non-oem kits that include the regulators and motors. They are supposedly built to oem specs, but I wasnt 100% sure if they would work on my truck since it came with manual windows. The ones I am looking at are with the vent windows (Just like my truck has). From what this site has, it appears that the with vent window and without vent window regulators are different, but I wouldnt bet money on it...its not that good of a picture.

4runner regulators like the doors are shorter. Find a pair of power truck doors with rot or dents

I know its a stupid old thread. But I have the same type question. I have a 93 dd all manual and a 89 donor truck with full power upgrades. how much work would it be to get the power to the doors if I just swapped doors. (i.e. how much wiring would be involved.) again sorry for bumping a super old thread.

it's a direct bolt-in swap. i did it, both regulators in under an hour.

link in a sec...
