Paint help!!!!! auto painters please look! window tint aswell
when i bought my Surf, it was after a really bad hail storm, so it had been repaired and repainted, but i did not know how good the paint job was, and now i can see, it is cracking. But tha is not why i am posting, i need to know where i can buy white TOYOTA white paint, i am getting my truck repainted white. everything but the chrome will be white. The guy down here will paint the entire truck for 600bz or 300us...BUT i have to supply the paint. SO, i needto know how much to buy and where to buy it from online and what all do i need, plus roll on rock gaurd and a rust coat like the new FJ where can i find out about buying it. everything and anything i need to get. he's a good painter, i have seen this guys work plus he has a parcial good shop, no sealed room like in Canada and the States but i gets the job done. Also for 160bz i can get chrome tint on ALL my windows, and they do a good job too, but while they have the windows out i want to know something, when they painted my truck they did NOT paint the inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so if i spray rock liner(all i have) will that reduce road noise by much?

just search google for auto paint suppliers, and look up a white toyota paint code and give them that....
as far as the rhino liner stuff inside, it isnt going to decrease road noise much, but probably some...
Here are some paint codes for you, and what they were on, Toyota has had a LOT of white vehicles....these are just a few...
Olympus White (T1453) 1969 Land Cruiser
Cygnus White (T12) 1971-1976 Land Cruiser
White (045) 1989-1995 Pickup, 1993-1998 T100, 1995-1998 Tacoma
Super White (040) 2001-2007 Tacoma, 2007 Tundra
Natural White (056) 1999-2000 Tacoma, 2000-2006 Tundra
White (033) 1982 Pickup

Why are you so stressed over TOYOTA WHITE? This is your chance to personalize your truck. Just look at as many whites as you can and pick the one you like the most.

Go with the 045 white. It isn't as white as white and is less bright as white white. I have this on my rig, and people love it. When my rig stands alone, you would sware it was white, but parking next to a white rig, you can really see the difference.

well down here in Belize, white is the way to go, um the reason for wanting TOYOTA white was trying to keep to factory look, i mean how MANY shades of white can there be? and i want it so white that it hurts to look at cause the sun is soo close and so VERY bright. but if you can suggest a place online to buy from that will supply what i need. what is the name of that rust coat the new FJ has? how much paint do i need to order to cover everything on my truck ( body, window air delfectors, sun visor, black part of grille, valance, interior, etc etc.) so i am looking for a place online i can order the ALL the paint i will need, rock gaurd and rust protective coat.

Well, I'll tell you what.... this paint here is cheap and tough AND easy to apply AND if you scratch up your truck, just touch it up and it matches nicely. They don't have too many color options, but I'm sure the white is very white and glossy. I painted my truck w/the fire red and that thing has some shine! http://www.boatersland.com/intbrightside.html You will only need about 2 quarts. That's only $48 plus shipping!

i think so, i have heard of that, so i will probably get that POR-15, so i need an online distributer for POR-15, enough white paint to do my Surf, enough rock gaurd to do the hood inside & out, bottom half of the truck all round, under the carpet in the rear cargo area. and clear coat and what ever else i would need to apply for proffesional paint job, they have the tools, i need to get the stuff that he puts on the truck (paint, clear coat etc etc...)

It's definitely your choice, but it's just another option for you. I'm not paying more $500 bucks for a paint job on a trail rig anymore.

lol..i dont think this Surf will see HARD CORE off roading where it would see damage, i am getting a different TOYOTA for that, this Surf is to do light trails and maybe one or two difficult, no Rubicon trail, its not my daily driver so it warms up a butt load inside due to that hot sun that burns us Gringos(white folks) here in Belize.

Actually, there is a lot of different white shades for automobiles. In fact, white is one of the hardest colors to match. Another fact, white is the best color to hide scratches and imperfections in the body.

If you want a good, easy to find, and tough paint go with Ford White. Its been around for years and years, everyone has it and everyone can match it. Im not partial to fords or anything... but the ford white is a good paint. Check into it.

thanks i will, i was thinking the same thing when i saw a white ford in town but then i remember that ford had that paint problem all those years ago

With todays paint and the proper pre work, you don't have to worry about yesterdays paint troubles from any factory paint job. New paint is great...and will last a long time. You are just borrowing their paint code, not the original paint.
