any and all input is welcome. i am getting ready for some new suspension...hopefully old man emu. should i run the heavy duty? also am thinking about running their torsion bars. any thoughts? good, bad, any regrets? pictures of before and after would be awesome.

this is all you need. You can change it depending on whether you want HD or MD suspension. I'd go HD if i were you.

so that was just ball joint spacers and not torsion bars...pros?cons? will the bj spacers work with stock wheels?

I have OME regular rear springs, torsion bars up front and shocks on all corners I also run ball joint spacers so you dont have to crank them up so much for lift and stiffen your ride. my ride is still on the stiff side cant imagine what th HD springs would feel like. but I dont do alot of wheeling with this truck either?

I have HD, I definitely recommend it. If I went with medium I'd never put anything in the back of my 4runner. As far as tortion bars go, if you have the money get them, it can only make it better. My stock ones work just fine so I never spent the money on them. I ran without ball joint spacers for the first two years I owned my OME kit. I finally bought them last year and I was just telling Mak92 how much nicer my ride is with the spacers and relaxed torsion bars. I have had the bj spacers for about 14 months now and I would recommend them to anyone.

Yeah. Its a nice setup over the POS bracket lifts. I'd definitely recommend OME setups to anyone.

As far as torsion bars go. I think the stocks are just fine. Unless you're carrying a tremendous amount of weight? I dont see how it can get much heavier up front. I have a TJM plated bumper, Budbuilt skid plate, and a winch on stock torsion bars and it rides fine. granted, it bounces off the bumpstops a lot, but low pros would fix that.

I did OME all around on my taco so it's a bit different but the HD springs are very stiff for sure. if you don't have any extra front end weight mediums will probably work.

Been nothing but satisfied with OME's quality and the ride although stiff as i mentioned, has very fast recovery and keeps the wheels glued to the road.

Email WabFab, he supplies this stuff at a very good price and was very helpful working with me to decide which springs to go with.

if you want "soft ride" I recommend LC coils over the OME ones. they flex like crazy as well.

I have the whole ome setup medium duty and love it. It's quality and ride very smooth. The only thing I carry in the back is camping gear wood ect and the medium is fine. If your hauling 300 lbs all the time then go HD. I have the torsion bars cranked half way to match the back and it still rides nice. Hope that helps.

Oh if you buy the full kit don't forget the steering stabilizer/dampener shock it's worth the extra loot.

Oh I drive an 87 4runner

You could always go the LC Coils / Rancho RS9000 way. Adjustable rear suspension is always nice, and so is a cheaper price.

I have an 86 truck and did full OME lift. HD leafs in the rear, HD torsion bars, nitro charger shocks all around and a steering stabilizer. At first the rear end was up crazy high! I cranked the torsion bars, but didn't get it quite even. After a bit, the rear settled down a bit but is still up high. The HD leafs are rated for continuous load of 500 pounds so with nothing the back it's gonna ride way up there. Definitely a rougher ride especially with the torsion bars cranked to the bump stops. I got some low profile bump stops from Energy Suspension and got an extra inch or so of cranking. After a while the ride softened but its still a bit rough. Mine is not a DD so I don't really mind. The kit kills it on the trail. It eats up washboard and small to medium rocky roads. All in all I love it and don't mind the bit of high a$$ end!

I have the hd coils in the rear of my truck and it is not loaded up with gear. it has a slight rake but a nice ride quality. Flexes very well.

I have the OME kit with 4 shocks, HD springs n T-bars and springs and the steering stabilizer. I have the torsion bars adjusted even with the rear. I decided against the BJ spacers because of cutting the of the A-arm business. I some what frequently carry a decent among of weight(500-700 lbs.). With or without the weight it handles great. It rides like a
4wd SUV should. I even carried 1200lbs of bagged soil 2 weeks ago and it rode level and smooth in the Austin hills. Blahblahblah, I've put about 10-11,000 miles on it so far(mostly highway) on it and i %100 love and recommend it.

Do you need the need the LSPV and track bar bracket with this lift?

Yes you do.

It depends on what your main runs will be, If your on the rocks I suggest stock torsions for articulation and some nice stiffies in the rear.
For regular use moderate torsions up front and stiff springs in the rear.

I had HD torsions on the front and it was like I was in a sportscar and no articulation what so ever, I would have to add 1000 lbs to the front just to get near normal feel.

Good shocks all around make a huge difference.

I have the OME MD kit installed in my 86 4runner. The back sits way higher than the front with no load. I carry my dirtbike mounted on the back which adds about 350lbs and it still rides a little high in the back. I plan to crank up front with the torsion bar to level it out like some have been doing. Definitely love the ride!

What size ball joint spacers? And did you do the diff drop?
