Oil smells like gas
I have a 1994 Toyota pickup with the V6. I bought the truck with about 165,000 miles and now it has 182,000. I've changed my oil every 3,000 miles.. the previous owner did as well.. Although today i checked my oil and it smells like gas?? and reasons or solutions for this?? And my exhaust has smelled different this week as well.. i dont know how to explain it other than it smells like a snowmobile..

Well the temperature has dropped down into the low 30s and mid 20s lately with some snow.. Do you think the change in weather this past week has to do with the issue at all?

Do you have a proper thermostat installed, is your engine warming up to correct operating temps??
Hows the heater working? If not getting hot enough to go into closed loop, engine will run rich, and oil won't get hot enough to cook off the excess fuel that collects.

How long of drives have you been taking? Multiple short drives can allow gas/ water to build up in the oil that would normally be cooked of by a long drive. Coolant temp sensor could also be going bad causing the trucks computer to think its colder than it actually is resulting in running rich.

Same problem
Im having the same problem. But I'm worried that it might be a seal somewhere. I read that you can get a UOA test done. I got a kit on amazon for $15.00 and some new spark plugs. It's been bugging the hell out of me. If none of the above mentioned works I will take it in for a compression test. Let me know if you find out anything else.

My thoughts are the modulator filter is all carboned up.You can take the cap off it and clean it. Your vsv
hoses may be routed wrong on the three pipes in the
center, just under the plenom on passenger side.

These easily get mis-routed when removing the plenom to change out the pcv valve under there.
So you can see, one of these hoses goes to the fuel regulator, Bingo, your gas foul smell!
