I'm gonna assume that the 1/2'' socket you used is a 6 point impact. if not, use that. if you still end up rounding the bolt head then grrrrr.
another trick I've see is to provide some relief from the bolt by cutting away some of it's collar (the wide round piece around the bolt head).

While its still running, ya might consider taking it to a do it yourself spray wash place and clean up the motor and under carriage.

Thanks all! I'm headed out of town here for a few days but will be cutting that collar off. I found a thread on pirate4x4, so if anyone stumbles upon this again here:http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...ght=crank+bolt

one thing to know about impact guns is that even if its rated for 1000 ft lbs. it doesnt mean thats what your getting. your compressor has to supply the correct PSI and at a constant rate as well.

I got it off!
So a bit new method.
This...
http://www.amazon.com/Irwin-Industri...1209113&sr=8-2
Plus this...
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...8359_200328359
And this
http://www.amazon.com/Vise-Grip-9-In...209247&sr=1-11
equals one happily removed rounded bolt. Now to figure out how to get the rest of this stuff off and figure out why some bolts have triple stacked washers on them. But some previous mechanic didn't realize they were different lengths, took the easy way out, and created an uber leak of a motor.

So someone used some sort of hellish RTV on the oil pan and cant get it off. I bent it. Any ideas how to get it off so I can get a new one? and is there any good way to see if the timing cover is warped? (the only reason why I can think of that I'd need a new one)

Get something thin, I used a putty knife, but a chisel, or something of the like should work. get a small hammer and tap it in on a corner and break the seal. You either need to lift the motor up, drop the front diff or a combination of both to get the pan off.
I unbolted the motor mounts and lowered the back of the diff and slid the pan out the back.

I finally got it to pry loose of the gasket but I doubt it's true anymore. Great. I'm assuming the 22re pan fits a 22rte motor.

Just unbolt the sway bar, all the diff mounts except the one on the front x-member (just loosen that one) and tilt the diff down onto a jack or jack stand.

The oil leak at the top of the tchain cover is most likely from somebody pulling the cover to replace the timing guides..
Only way to fix that is to replace the headgasket..

Dont tell me that. The guides look new and the timing case cover had clearly been removed before and was leaking out of some bolts among other places. So to replace the timing chain the headgasket has to be replaced to? That seems a bit nuts

No, it doesn't have to be replaced, but if someone was not smart about how they did it and they pinched the head gasket, then the HG does need to be replaced. Look down from the top of the head, where the timing chain is. Look to see f there is any gasket poking out the back. I had that same problem.
Look for something like this. You can see on the right side, the gasket is pushed out where the mechanic pinched the gasket putting the head back on, which caused a very large oil leak.

psh i bend oil pans from time to time due to being extremely hard to remove. you just lay it flat on the ground facing down and take a flat punch and tap the areas that dont lay flat till its fairly flat. the FIPG silicone will take care of the rest

Well the seal on the oil pan is broken, the motor is raised to max, and the dif is rotated as far down as I could get it and the pan still doesn't come out. Do I remove the oil pickup tube? I have plenty of room to get in there to do that.
