oem or aftermarket pads? Help

I need to change my front pads on my 93 4X4 4Runner. I just bought it about 5 months ago so this will be the first time for me. Is it better to use factory pads or are aftermarket ones OK? I have a 91 Isuzu truck that I have to run factory pads on, the couple times I've tried aftermarket, even the better ones, they suck (squeeling and more brake dust). Is this true for Toyota's as well? Thanks for some input.

I will tell you this - Toyota's OEM brake pads are very high quality pads. Even with less than 20% on my pads and warped rotors on my truck (soon to be changed out but in the meantime), they still brake well, do not squeel or make any sounds, and they don't give off a lot of brake dust (now if you don't clean your wheels regularly, then yes, you will notice some accumulation, but that is the price you pay for solid brakes).

I'm sure many will chime in who have gone aftermarket without issue and suggest save your money, but like I said you won't have to worry or have any doubts if you stick with stock in this instance.

I've used aftermarket brake pads with no problems, but I would use a very good make.

Use either Mintex, Girling or Ferodo.

By the way Mintex have just won a contract to be the OEM supplier for Toyota brake pads on some of there vehicle models.
