Odd breakage. 93 4runner. lower control rod mount

The passenger side lower control rod mount, the bracket that attaches to the frame, has either rusted through or broken.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I trust the junk yard for this part?

Thanks,

What's your ride?

If it's a truck like mine, that mount is welded to the frame.

Sorry, it's a 93 4runner. Looks like it's mounted with a couple of bolts. Rear axle, in case I didn't say.

Nevermind! I would say that a junkyard part would be fine, as long as it's not too rusted out. Just make sure you inspect it well before buying it. Any other mounts need to be replaced? Might as well check everything out well, if there's a mount like that on the driver side, I would go ahead and replace it at the same time as the other one.

Yea, I was already thinking about changing the other side as well. If my shocks would ever get here, I'll have new springs and new shocks as well.

Ooh, I'm jealous. I just put new shocks on, but I have to wait on the springs. Mine aren't completely flat, but they're not far off the overloads. Enjoy the sweet ride!

Well crap on me. Just talked to the toyota parts lady near me. She said this mount is welded to the frame. What the hell do I do now?

go and have one cut off of a wreck at the salvage yard and then have a shop weld it on. Make sure you take plenty of measurements first though. either that or swap to leaf springs

fixed your thread title--in the future use a more descriptive thread title...
might want to add your truck to your signature--helps eliminate fishing for info trips
