northwest off road specialties: Opinion on springs
 

Hey guys I'm looking for 2" rear springs and found these with the search function and was just wondering if anybody had opinions on them. I would like to know about ride quality, flex, and longevity. Thanks guys

From what ive heard, the general idea is to stay away from NWOR like they have the plague.

The WORST customer service i have ever had to deal with.
Rude. Unhelpful. And dont know anything about the products they are selling.

when I first bought my truck 4 years ago my brother in law gave me set of a 4" rear lift springs he said hen ran them on his truck for a couple of weeks.
I was thinking cool, saves me some $$$
Did a little research on them...Tank Like ride, no flex

I ended up going this route instead and am very happy with the results...had to move spring mounts but they work great...

some say trail gear spring sag after awhile, but 2 years later mine are fine IMO.
Just their bushings suck

OC, how much did that kit raise your rig?

i twelfth this. it took me several months to get some very simple parts for my dual tri stick transfer case kit i bought from them. never called me back, and blamed me for it.

add-a-leaf or full spring? Can't go wrong with the OME leaf springs.

Get Old Man Emu springs through your local 4Wheel Parts store. Free shipping, just pay tax. It comes cheaper than any other springs. And oh yea, by the way...stay away from NWOR.

I do not know about what others are saying but I have been doing business with John at NWOR for over 25 years and I have never had a problem with NWOR. His springs are excellent and they last, better then most of the stuff vendors are selling today. I have raced off road with John's springs and never broke one. I look at some of the things that are being sold today for off road vehicles by a number of vendors and all I can say they have great "Marketing" departments. I am an engineer and I think I could write a book about what hard working people spend on some items that are just plain BS.

OK, now I'm excited! I believe I have decided on OME leafs and fat bobs BJ spacers. Anybody have experience with the flex of OME springs? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys!

They are good for things like tow straps, hilifts, d-rings, etc. though. But never parts.

cool, they dont carry them anyways. The other off road store around here doesnt either so i'm going to need to order them

What are you trying to build. If you want flex then you need longer springs which means new spring mounts, chevy 63's or longer aftermarkets. If you want just lift to level out the rear or a mild lift for looks and maybe some mild trails then look at the ZUK mod or AAD to save money. After all if you want to wheel and flex out you will not be happy with the flex and ride height or ride quality of stock length springs. I've gone the route of stock length lift springs when Downey was still in business. Now I've gone to longer length Allpro springs my rear flex is now limited by the configuration of my stocks, will change that too eventually.
