No power, no fuel to driver side injectors??
Hey Guys,
Been fighting this beast for a while now and finally broke down and took the ole 88 3VZE to a Japanese repair shop. They said the driver side injectors aren't getting enough fuel. Anyone run into this before?
Thanks,
Tommy

Well they wanted to pull the intake and check the pipes that connect the two fuel rails to the tune of $900 so I told them not to. One of my techs can pull the intake and check that. What's the best way to test the ECU?
Thanks!
Thanks!

$900?!!! wow. that seems ridiculous to me. i can do that job in under an hour
you said there's no power to the driver's side? what....as in no voltage? how'd they determine not enough fuel? are the injectors even firing at all?
to test ecu, you have to back probe the driver terminals with a meter

Well, one of my techs pulled the intake in about 30min! Sure enough the fuel rails were full of rust. Put it back together after cleaning everything out and runs like a scalded dog! I can't believe how peppy this thing is. I've only driven a handful of 3VZ's before and this one almost feels like the 3.4. I think the timing might be a little too far advanced but it doesn't spark knock so we'll see. Thanks for all of the input from everyone.
