No fuel on 22r

Hey guys,

Looking for some advice on my 1987 pickup with the 22r - I am getting no fuel to the lines - randomly died on me and for some strange reason, the negative battery terminal cable popped off at the same time, im guessing because it came to such an abrupt stop and it wasn't tightened down enough, I originally thought I could just put it back on and it would start just fine.

Anyways so I blew in all the lines with about 50 psi with a compressor. I believe it was down the return line? Can't quite remember and I could hear my gas bubbling in the fuel tank. Then I blew down the "in" line and heard the air escaping out of the fuel cap. I have an inline fuel filter in the engine bay, I thought maybe that could have been the problem. No luck. I then decided that it must be the fuel pump not doing its job and bringing fuel up (mechanical fuel pump) so I bought a new one, no luck.

My question is, if im blowing down the lines and can clearly hear it in the tank bubbling and/or the air seeping out of the gas tank. What does this mean?

Could it just be the filter in the tank being clogged ( I think there's one in there anyways) and the fuel pump doesn't have enough pressure to pull gas up or do I need to redo my fuel lines? Any tips on that if it comes down to it? I know a decent amount about vehicles but have never had to change out a tank/fuel lines. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

stick to one thread, the one you started a few days ago asking the same question.
