NO cut ZUK spring options

I know 96-98 4runner rear springs are supposed to work.

Someone has mentioned Jeep springs will also do the trick. Does anyone know which years?

Any other options?

i did it on my buddys runner with 95 rear runner coils, fit over bumps without cutting, however it was a bear to get them on even with removing shocks and shackle, good luck

I have been looking at wanting to do the same thing. I have heard these might work. I have measured them and the inside diameter of the 125lb rate springs will fit over the bumpstops. I will be ordering them shortly and trying them.

Will do. I just ordered them. The listing is only for one spring, so it actual costs around $80 for the pair.

Hey dlucky-- Those coils are 13" long.....I see they also have them in 16" here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-R...Q5fCarQ5fParts

with those larger 5" OD coils you don't have to cut the upper steel stopper....so you can just slip them over the outside similar to the TJ coil. The lower portion of those coils looks to be a bit of a loose fit over the rubber snubber..... a pigtail would be nice but I don't see an option in the 13" or 16" length. Keep us informed how the 5" OD coil fits on the topside.

Will post some pix, before, during, and after. I didn't want to have to cut the bump stops off. I talked to the seller and he stated the ID is different depending on the rate of the springs. I only asked about the 125# spring. The ID on those is approximately 4.125". I should get them about Wednesday next week. I will let you know what happens.

VonMussa, sorry for thread jacking.

I'm betting that your pics will be very interesting to VonMussa....VonMussa's question-front TJ coils of all years should work aok...1998~2011. Fortunately, the fronts are plenty long enough so they can be cut down if needed. I seem to remember them being about 17" long stock.

EDIT---Seems like 17" is probably alot longer than what they really are...probably closer to 14 or 15....just guessing at this point though.

Zuk, the TJ coils are 17"? Does that mean they will need to be cut down? I've got limited tools and limited mechanical know-how. I'm trying to keep this as cut free and minimal tools.

If you ended up with the TJ fronts then that might give 5" or a smidge more of lift. First though, let's see what the numbers are that you're dealing with.....these will tell me how long the coil should be and the minimum length coil so that it doesn't fall out during maximum articulation offroad.

1---on level ground what is the measurement for the space the coil will occupy?..... 8"?....9"?

2---Figure a way to SAFELY jack the rear bumper up such that the rear tires are just barely touching the ground and repeat the measurement. This should be done with the lower shocks hanging free so that they do not limit the drop of the axle.

Got a pic of your Runner in its present condition?

ps---I'm dumpster diving....probably later tonight. But I don't think you guys know what that really mean anyways

thanks ZUK

Dang....I pulled behind the building of a place that builds buggies and does lifts...no luck. The dumpster had a ton of cardboard in it but no coils. They might be separating the steel out for the junk yard value...not sure. Time will tell.

Heck....That is an awesome idea. I wish I would have thought of doing that.
