....probably...just that you don't need to lift as much weight as the 4runner. I probably will do this to my truck too....but have to research a bit.

I had superlift Add a leaf's until one of the "made in india" springs broke in half, separated from the leaf pack and shredded one of my tires and I had to take them out.

Now I'm back to the sag.

I considered this before I did the "cut" Zuk mod. My only concern is the seeming lack of stability of the lower mount point. I looks like it has a good bit of slop in it.
In the end, if you're happy, that's all that counts because if our trucks all looked the same we'd be driving JEEPS!!!!!!!!! BUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

ahahaha..true.

and as far as stability...I'll agree with you on that much because it is not truly entrapped anywhere on the bottom....but it is certainly on the top. so the top is kinda holding it in place...it's not wobbling or anything there.

Thanks for the write up, this has inspired to do the same for my pickup here pretty soon as the replacements leaf springs I put in last spring pretty much sagged right off the UPS truck, I bet these springs will be helpful hauling firewood or anything for that matter

I bet I hit the bump stops 9 times out 10 on bumpy roads and such

Got mine on today and the idea with the bottle Jack helped out a lot! I rented a spring compressor and took about 30 min per side without taking the back wheels off...I'm lazy lol.

Just finished getting mine in with a total of 30 minutes, one bottle jack, and the help of a light duty chain come along to help compress the springs some, Also the help of my dad to help push and pull a few things. Well worth the money! I love the way the truck looks more sporty again than before!

Just throwing in my 2¢ regarding spring rates for this mod. I did the cut version roughly a year ago. I chose 2.5" ID x 11" x 125# springs.

The springs at 125# are simply too strong, my truck hardly compresses them at all, and rides like crap.
I think the deciding factor is how far gone your original leafs are.
If someone is willing to put in the effort, I'm sure spring rate could be decided better by measuring where the original leafs are sitting pre mod, and what effect different rate springs have.

I got mine installed this weekend. I have spring compressors, so I was able to get 'em in by pulling the rear wheels, jacking the truck up, and inserting the compressed springs while the axle hung.

I learned that I definitely need some new jack stands. Mine are too short, and they're the ratcheting type:

I almost dropped the truck on the left rear wheel when the ratchet let go as I was lowering the jack to settle the truck onto the stand. The jack caught it, but the drum came within about half an inch of the driveway. That was a real wake-up call!

There were rain clouds blowing through, so I was hurrying and didn't do any pics with a tape measure to gauge how much lift they provided. Visually, it didn't lift the back end as much as I'd expected. There's a little difference, but you have to be looking for it. My truck has a ~4.5" lift on the front and blocks/extended shackles in back, so I guess the effect is kind of lost in all that lift.

I drove it on pavement, pot holes and dirt roads after getting the springs in, and it feels like the mod is helping the back end a lot - stiffened up the springs so I wasn't bottoming out, but not so much that it felt hard-assed. I guess my leaf springs were probably pretty shot. So I'm really happy with the result. Easy mod and inexpensive, too!

Does anybody have any reports of how the trucks wheel with this no cut mod?

My only worry is that the spring could possibly come out at full droop.

this was my concern too.

think of it.......I had to remove the shocks to allow the rear to move down MORE than that...and even that was not enough and had to use a bottle jack to spread it more....all that equals CANNOT COME OUT!

also...the springs are not freely floating in there, as they are securely wedged in place over the upper bumpstop.
