Yea I live in western, MA and i've checked out that website before, i'd like to join, but i just don't really have the spare money to pay dues and stuff. I'm only 17 and work 20 or so hours a week at minimum wage.

one piece of advice, u might wanna consider moving the cb antenna to the top of the vehicle or looking into a twin for the passenger side. That way you wont get distorted projection when you are sending out and you will recieve better also. Just a thought.

i might do the dual antenna thing but putting it on the top is just way to tall for me.

The higher up you get it the better your signal both in and out are gonna be and the closer to the middle the better it will use the truck as a ground plain again better output and receiving.

try going off the rear air foil mount close to the middle and run an extra ground to the frame then set your SWR(standing wave ratio) you should get way better reception and be able to put out a way better signal.

something like this, mine is mounted on my tire carrier but that's the idea you should be trying to get for an even receive and output signal

Also 18ft. of coaxial is the best for everything if you can't do the whole 18 ft use 3 foot increments

tman12345 03-17-2009 12:54 PM

yea i have the 18 foot coax
