Smile New LC Engineering 3VZE Header

Well I just blew my first head gasket on a 3VZE so I figured it was time to give headers a try. People were reporting so many issues with the Downey brand I felt I would try something new.

Here is what they look like:

Since I was swapping engines with a known good spare I was able to remove the manifolds outside the engine bay:

Hey SUPRA, you can have these finally!

More later...

I can't wait to see pics of the install. Take lots of pictures, I want to see the clearances to the starter and other parts as well as fitment and such. Also, where the crossover pipe comes together and joins together as one pipe, what size is the one pipe (which is justupstream of the cat with the O2 sensor bung?). Is it 2" or 2 1/4" or 2 1/2"? Also, does it have provisions for connecting the EGR ? It looks like it on the passenger side in that pic but it's tough to tell (in the pic it looks like it's sort of underneath the flange). I'm also curious of the routing of the crossover pipe, as well as let me know what gasket you decide to go with (or did the kit come with gaskets? and bolts/studs, etc. ?).
Where in Canada are you?

OH SNAP!!!

LOOK CLOSELY!! The headers use the OEM exhaust gaskets that the crossover does AND the EGR and Reed valve ports are OEM!!!

Hey Canadiantoy, those look awesome. Is that the street header ceramic kit off the LCE website? Just curious when you bought them? I ordered the same kit on July 16 and still haven't gotten them. Now that I see yours I can't wait. Hope they come in soon. Did yours come with hardware and gaskets?

Thanks,
Jason

Headers look nice but that engine looks pretty nasty. Hope some cleanup is planned as well... keep the progress posted.

I say wait to see an install first - some install pics and some spec's on the headers would be nice, plus some performance results. I'm not gonna drop $800 on headers if I don't know some of the spec's about them. I mean they look nice and all but I can make pooh look nice if I want to. It's when they're installed, and functional, that they will prove their worth. Why can't LC Engineering provide some ancedotal information or some more spec's on their headers so they can help people make the decision to buy them and see the value in having the priciest headers available for this engine. What did the dyno charts show with these headers if you hook it up to stock exhaust? How about hooked up to an aftermarket exhaust? How are the clearances to the starter, etc. Where is the crossover pipe routed. Lets get some answers first before you get all googly oooh over how shiny these headers look.

Well I just got off the phone with a sales person @ LC regarding an issue with the cross over pipe routing. We'll have to see what their designer says in the morning. For now I have to run in 2WD !

The starter clerance is not an issue at all:

I ordered mine on Aug 2nd.

The kit came with absolutely everything including the little clips to put the rubber flaps back on which are on either side of the engine.

Clerance isn't bad after bending the fuel line out of the way a bit. Here is a pic before it was bent:
