New fuel pump won't work.

So my 94 4runner (3.0) was cutting out when I put my foot in it. I checked just about everything and all fingers pointed to the fuel pump. So I figured what the heck, it's 12 years old, probably needs a new one anyway. Bought a Walbro 190, installed it (PITA) and can't get my runner to start now. Disconnected the hard line from the top of the tank through that little access hole in the back and turned the key to see if anything comes out and it's not even pumping. Polarity is correct on the new pump, and I've gone back over everything. Getting pretty good and removing and installing my gas tank. :bang: For some reason it just won't pump. I need help, any ideas???

Upate:
Note for future ref: Walbro wire configuration is opposite that of Denso. Polarity was backwards on the pump. Wires were spliced correctly, but + terminal on Walbro is - terminal side of Denso. Thanks for the input though. Didn't know about the jumper trick before, thanks. I did actually hook a 12v power supply up to it and it was running. But it was running backwards. Didn't know it would do that.
Thanks again.
:flush:

try running 12v to it, and see if it pumps.

i imagine the pump has a fuse..make sure it isnt blown.

there is a check connector in the diagnostic box under the hood that you can jump with a wire to turn the pump on if memory serves its E1 to Fc

the fuse for the pump is the EFI fuse i believe. Its in the black underhood fusebox, on the passengers side fender

Did it solve hesisitation problem?

Did replacing the pump solve your hesisitation problem? Did the problem become worse over time or happen all at once? How many miles did your car have? Thanks, having similar problem.
