New fuel filter made a difference in acceleration and smoothness
After reading a few threads on fuel filter replacement, I finally changed mine out. I noticed an immediate difference with more responsive acceleration and smoothness during acceleration.
Peace of mind... and it only cost me $37 and an hour of wrenching. Troy :drink: |
Is the sig up to date?
That's what... 130K miles or so on the odometer, right? |
Yup, that's the right reading on the odometer. I bought the truck early this year with 202,600 km. I didn't have any service records from the PO and bought it based on the opinion of a friend who is a mechanic.

Yours must have been pretty clogged. Most begin to notice fuel starvation problems due to lack of pressure/volume at higher RPMs as the filter clogs.
I change my vehicles filters about every 30k miles. I consider it cheap insurance. |
We took it out for about 250 miles yesterday on a day trip and it was smooth sailing at higher RPM, especially during acceleration. No stumbling or hesitation. Hiccups only happened sporadically prior to the fuel filter change. Now it doesn't happen at all.

Could you tell if the fuel filter had ever been replaced? Just wondering. Ron T. |
