new drums + old shoes = vibration?

I'm doing my rear brakes. Got the new drums on yesterday but didn't have time to put the new shoes in.

I just needed to get 5 miles down the road to work today, so I drove with the old shoes in. I'm getting a pretty bad vibration when I brake hard.

Is this likely caused by the old shoes on the new drums?

I doubt my new drums came from the store out-of-round, but I guess it's possible.

What do you think?
