Need help draining/adding AC compressor oil to a 92 22re

Hello all! I am preparing for a wheeling vacation eastward into the heat and I had to pull my old ac dryer/accumulator. I have un sealed the system and I need to add and or check compressor oil. Mine is a r12 system with the red and black caps on top of the compressor. Can anyone tell me where the drain is on the compressor or how to drain the old oil? Also can I add the new oil to the low and hi pressure holes of the compressor? And, what is a good oil for these compressors?

I'm not aware of any way to "drain" the oil from the system. You're only talking about 100cc of oil, and that gets spread through all the components and plumbing. So I assume you're talking about flushing the system. You'll need to remove the TXV to do that, and I'm not sure you can really flush the compressor anyway (I was replacing the compressor on mine when I flushed the rest of the system).

Do you plan to charge the system with R12 rather than convert it to R134a? My understanding is that you cannot buy R12 without a certain license, and even then it's VERY expensive. But perhaps you have a source.

Here's all I know about air conditioning: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-r134a-284801/

the system has been completely drained. I am using r12
I have read you can drain the compressor itself somehow. Supposedly there are reed valves in it and a drain. However, that was for a different compressor than the 22re. So I figured I would find out while I have the system apart. The FSM doesn't say JACK DOODLEY SQUAT about the AC system for these rigs.

Mine was "out" of R-12, but "sealed"
I couldn't source a new dryer in time, so I merely swapped the fittings for R-134a (steel ones; you have to pull the Schrader core to use the adapters), and filled er up as per instructions with new oil and R-135a
I ***also** pulled the EVAP (inside the cab) and cleaned the mouse nest out.

It blows at around 45F and has held for over a year.

I don't plan on the 134r swap. I have a local shop source for r12.

If you are going to stick with r12, Just let the shop your going to charge the system for you.

I personally will keep my AC system using r12 as I think its colder than 134a.
