Need to find better halve shafts/cv's...

4 years ago,I replaced my passenger front half shaft. Purchased from Autozone (after market of course),for the nifty price of $150.00 with a $70 core refund.
I thought that wasnt bad at all. I used the 4 wheel drive 1 x in 4 years...now that very half hsaft is making ungodly noises going sown the road and even worse on hard left turns.
I'm trying to find a better after market half shaft,if that's even possible.
Does anyone know if the one's the stealerships sell, are after market of Toyota OEM's?
The guy I talked to at the parts counter might as well have been bagging at a grocery store,he was so clueless.

Since you rarely wheel, probably the easiest thing to do is, after replacing the existing CV axle, is to throw on a set of manual hubs and keep them unlocked except on the rare occasion when you wheel.
This will preserve the axles since they won't be turning.
