My new project

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and new to toyotas. I just bought a 91 reg cab 22RE 4wd and I'm stoked! I bought it with the intent to daily it to work and use it for hunting and moderate off roading. With that said it runs and drives but it has seen better days the interior it missing door panels and stereo and alot of hacked wires the exterior is missing rear bumper some lights also hacked wires. What I'm hoping to get from this thread is some experienced yota guys that can give me some ideas, pointers, common issues to look for, necessary mods, and basically anything that is gonna help me get the project done right. I'm a mechanic by trade and I'm not afraid to do any modifications needed or beneficial so hope you can help me out guys! Thanks I look forward to the project

Welcome to the Toyota world. These are some great trucks and you will find easy to work on. With their age and previous owners hack jobs there are plenty of issues that will need worked out. Many issues can be fixed easily for free or cheap. On the links below in my signature is several common fixes I have done and showed how I fixed them on the first page and first post. List some of the actual problems you have and there is probably an easy fix for it. First thing I would do is pull the valve cover ande check that the Timing Chain Guide is not broken off at the top. Welcome to Yotatech.

I would check Marlin Crawler or Trail Gear for parts related to that area.
