My 1986 Toyota 2lt diesel pickup has a power issue
Hi guys, I have a 1986 Toyota 2lt diesel pickup, I seem to have a issue with the power the truck puts out, normally the truck will do 105 kmh down the highway and push about 10 pounds of boost with an exhaust temp of 900 to 950 with clean non-smoky exhaust. but once in a blue moon it puts out power, I can it 15-16 pounds of boost and easily hit 120kmh. But this power is short lived, I think it's a fuel issue, any ideas?

Welcome!!
Not real big on diesels Here as we don`t see all that many imported to the USA .
It has been quite a while since I worked hands on Turbo Truck engines
It sounds more like a Turbo issue The pump and injectors should have a limit to the amount of fuel .when stock.
I want to say Waste gate sticking at times but I am not sure that is even the correct term.
Just be careful over boosting can cause a lean condition when this happens does the exhaust temperature stay in the safe zone
