Gnarly has said repeatedly he likes the inexpensive "OEM style Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler" from Autozone. I asked him what exactly he meant, and he pointed to part number 87751 as an example.
Is anyone else running one of these? If so, any videos or recordings? I'm looking for something fairly quiet.

I am going to get one of these when i go throguh my exhaust setup. I had one on my CJ5 a few years ago and it wasnt loud at all. It was nice and compact so it wouldnt get torn off by trail obstacles, and it was relatively solid. I didnt have problems with JCW getting it.

Lol, I'm sitting in the waiting room of a local exhaust shop right now
I'm having them gut this horribly constructed PaceSetter cat-back kit, but still retain the PaceSetter muffler because I think the muffler at least sounds good.
Installing a new OEM style cat (2.25" inlet and outlet though) because I'm tired of the horrible smell that follows the truck around while having no cat, run 2.25" piping from the PaceSetter header back to the muffler, then 2.25" piping for the tail pipe, exiting in the stock location with a new chrome tip
And I'll be placing an order for a new header as well, because this freeking PaceSetter keeps springing leaks just like the stock manifold did, and I'm tired of screwing with it...
UPDATE - OEM style cat and PaceSetter muffler has a nice mellow tone, and is MUCH quieter than with NO cat I like it better now; it's no longer obnoxious

I have stock exhaust, except for a cherrybomb glasspack, and I love it. Sound real nice at about 1800 rpm, nice and loud, but it don't really drone that bad on the highway, so its nice.

I'm running a magnaflow high flow cat and a flowmaster super 40. There is about 2 feet of pipe after the muffler and then there is a turn down tip at the end. It sounds great all around. Loud enough to get some attention yet still great for long drives as there is very little drone.
