my truck is GUT LESS what can i do to get some more hp out this ol' thing?
i was lookin at chip moduals on ebay? any good?

Some would suggest the ISR mod and deckplate mod, but I have done neither so I can't say if they have done anything.

i have a flowmaster on im lookin cheap lol (no money) lol mabey cold air intake? whats this them i realy dont no what they are so any info?

Everything costs somthing man. Save up and mod your truck right. Cold air intakes are a waste of money IMO, you could get a custom midpipe fabbed to replace the rubber hose but thats about it.

Your best bet is with the exhaust.

More power will cost you money, period.

Every little bit helps with these engines so intakes are not a waste of money. A cam could be concidered a waste of money since to install one you need to do a head gasket and a cam on a stock engine=very minimal power gain. Just remember that all add on's compliment eachother and make them work better. Short of porting the head and getting bigger valves, the best place to start is exhaust (not just cat back), full exhaust all the way with a header. Intake. Advance the ignition timing and run a higher octane fuel. You can make them run pretty good with minimal money. When money permits you can buy more things like cams. Cams are a funny thing. People rave about them, but don't understand them. If you have EFI you are limited to cam choice (while there are a lot of cams available only a few will work as good as they can or people realize they can with the mods that they have or don't have). Save money and upgrade as you go but learn what you are modifying while fully grasping the concept of what you are doing by research.

i had a truck like yours i had a 2.25'' exhaust and a custom intake it was ok but by far the best mod i did was add a Lce header im sure a little work to the head would of been awesome too

here is what i have
engbldr. street rv head w/ 261c cam
lce header, flowmaster muff
downey intake
full tune up (cap, rotor, wires,plugs,fuel filter)
and it is still pretty gut less (but i have 33x10.5 w/stock gears)

if u want to make a real difference in power, a-swap to a powerful engine. lol. yea. save up man. b-do all the mods at the same time. save up. the exhaust will be benefited by an intake, and intake will be benefited by an exhaust and cam, a cam will be benefited by an intake and exhaust. everything plays into each other.

in other words, save ur money and do it right.

find a blown up 22re turbo and swap the turbo system.

ive always kept my 22re maintained and the only mod it has is a flowmaster 40 series. it runs great, and has alot of pep. 160xxx+

not sure since the odo was replaced.
its not a race car its a early 90's pickup, remember. haha

best you can do for it is a tune up.

very true. and while u would have a turbo, ud have to be rly careful with psi settings and such because of the way the block is set up. if its not made for a turbo ur not gonna be able to throw in a major booster. theres a thread somewhere that talks about it. pretty recent.

I would make sure that the engine is running as well as it possibly can. Tuneup, check your EGR system, vacuum leaks, TPS sensor, and valve adjustment. If your timing chain is old and worn it may have sloppy timing.

Is it just driving slow, or is it lagging? Are you expecting to much from it or is it in need of work?

well it just takes for ever to get up and go... my guess is my motor is goin south i got outa my truck after a 15 min drive and my hood was hotter than hell and she smelt funny... if i was loaded id do the 350 swap :)
