Missing rear driveshaft ,1986 4x4

Hey Fellas. I just recovered my 1986 4x4 truck that was stolen 3 months ago and apparently was driven very hard running drugs/people along the border corridor here in San Diego county. Problem I have is that it is missing the rear driveshaft( but, I consider it a blessing at this point). Anyhow, I have no idea if it a one-piece or two-piece shaft that I should be searching for. It does not seem to have had any type of center bearing or support location. Also, it is a manual transmission, long bed model. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Peace to All The Yota Fans !

Just find a one piece and be happy. Less parts to wear out.

Is this an extended cab?
If so the drive shaft is longer and you you may need a two piece because of harmonic issues. There's allot more to drivelines than just connecting them up

Sorry to hear it was stolen and abused. What's the insurance company's stand on this?
Why are you looking for parts and not them? Did they pay you out for the truck and you bought it back?

Btw, I'm happy to have finally found one that fits. Be happier when I can get up under there in the morning and bolt it in and get rolling again. Thanks, again ! :-)

It's a regular cab/ long bed. I only had liability insurance on it. Just glad to get it back. Will be installing kill switches, locking fuel shut-off, lo-jack and 20,000 volt door handles next. Any other suggestions would be kindly appreciated. Thanks in advance for input.

Red face

If they want it bad enough they will get it.

All those neat ideas just keep mostly honest people that way.

Move to someplace you can park the truck outside with the keys in.

My experience is that most thieves just aren't that smart.
Putting that stuff in will help. The majority of thefts are simple opportunity. True, If they really want to take something they'll bring in a tow truck. No amount of countermeasures can stop that but at least they'll have to WORK to get it running!

If you are using a drive shaft from a 4Runner you either don't have a long bed or it will be too short.
