Mazda Spring swap? How many done it?

I want some new rear springs for the runner and was looking into some chevies but mazdas seem to be cheaper. I only need maybe 2-3" lift. I got some longer shackles that I can use. I have stock springs w/AAL but they ride like chit and flex even better .

All you have to do is weld new hangers in front of the old ones correct?
Do they ride nice? Flex decent? They are out of a truck so they should be able to hold a little bit of weight, correct? I already read the
Toyota Offroad.com thing so. I know a little bit already but I want some other opions.

Thanks

I know that Mazda pickups and Ford Rangers are the same but are the rear leafs the same.

This is my next mod. I figured it will be cheap to do. springs and hangers? not much there. was origanly going to do the 63" chevies but thats more worka and alot more money.

Mazdas are prolly going to be even lighter than your runner and the springs would sag and not even give you stock height. your springs on your runner may be longer than the mazda ones stock anyways. The Chevys are longer and spread a load across a larger area and since they are from a half-ton truck they are able to hold up.

Um ... if you gotta reweld hangers, why not go with the longest spring you can - ie Chevies. Typically, you should expect to pay less than $100 - don't see how these others will be much cheaper...

Mazda parts are really cheaper, I just bought a Mazda intermediate pipe for a very cheap price. But make sure it will have a perfect fit to your runner. It might not since it's springs are shorter.
