Marlin Crawler Clutch

Alright heres the deal, my throwout bearing is starting to squeal unbarably loud. My 95 22re pickup still has the stock clutch in there with 160k miles on it, so i think i cant the best out of it. I have drove around long enough and its starting to affect the driving, no clutch slippage yet, but when i take off my truck has a slight shake to it, the pedal doesnt feel the same, and everytime i depress the clutch i hear the squealing sound over my radio. I am thinking of replacing my stock clutch with one from marlin crawler, but heres the deal.

I have searched and read alot about these clutches and have seen that some people say the throwout bearing that comes with the kit squeals also. I am just wondering if this happens to alot of people using the marlin crawler clutch, because my soul purpose of replacing the clutch is to quiet my throwout bearing...otherwise i wouldnt replace it. If anyone has any experiences with the clutches the pro's the con's please lettme know.

I dont go offroad much unless its hunting season, hunting season here lasts 3 months in North Carolina, so you could say 3 months out of the year I offroad, other than that I stay on the highway occasionally going on a muddin trip with the boys. Would the marlin crawler clutch best suit me or should i think of another one such as one from Napa, or any other brand. Or if you know of a different and better clutch that would best suit me, please lettme know as well.

My pilot doesn't squeel. Marlin upgraded his clutches recently so I don't know if the pilot bearings changed. Mine is basically the unit for a T100 - it has 300 lbs more clamping force but is stock for that Toy application.

Marlin throwout and pilot bearing are Toyota OEM ... about as good as you can get.

Did the people with squealing issues grease them up properly?

You should always replace your pilot and throwout bearings upon clutch installation....do NOT use anything but OEM toyota....

Might be a good time to change out that worn shifter bushing on your tranny too while you have it out

Marlin and Centerforce are both great clutches

Thats good to know that the bearings are OEM. The one guy I know thats said it recently is Jay351(i believe is his name), he said his throwout bearing from the kit squeals, not sure how he greased it. My main problem right now is the throwout bearing squealing in the stock one, so i didnt wanna replace my clutch and all the bearings and the throwout still squeal as the stock one has begun to do.

Sounds like a lot of work just to look at your bearing....

If you're going through all that trouble I would replace the clutch.....sounds like its time

Thats what I am saying. I plan to replace the clutch, but the clutch isnt the issue its the bearing, I just dont wanna replace everything and the throwout bearing from the kit still squeal like my old one did.

centerforce makes centerforce...the pedal feel is a bit stiffer than stock and there isnt much "slipping" of the clutch. Its either "engaged" or "not engaged" ....not much in between... Dont worry about the marlin throwout bearing...its Koyo stock OEM...the best there is...

Im thinking the squealing or whatever was probably installer error

Well after hearing that the bearings that come with Marlin's kit I feel alot better about it. I think Marlin will be my best option...I do tow my 4wheeler and lawnmower on occassion, so this would best suit me? I want that stock feel, but i also want it to grab and pull...

Mine tends to squeal a little, but its a light chirping that goes away with any pressure of the clutch pedal. Im pretty sure its just the release fork rusting and then riding on the bearing causing the noise. All it takes is 5 mins to hit it with grease and its quiet for the next few hundred kms.

If you have not already, get the shifter seat and bushing kit. You might want to buy a flywheel if you don't want to get your stocker resurfaced. Or if its in bad shape.

Well I ordered the clutch over the telephone and asked was there anyway they could rush it too me since I had the truck in the air and needed it by this weekend. The marlin crawler staff worked with my greatly! I had the clutch by thursday even tho it cost a lil extra it was a lil worth it. Got the clutch installd and I must say the pedal feels amazing...I believe its better than stock. Big props to Marlin Crawler! Thanks to everyone with the info!

i dont know why your clutch is going already? when i bought my Surf it was still on it's FIRST clutch. and their ment to last the life of the vehicle. MC has a good rep. that is probably what I will end up with when i eventually need a new one.

Most of our trucks have previous owners... who might have not been the best at shifting
