Ah... i love to see a perfectly good set of OEM man hubs painted correclty...... makes me warm inside...
|
Yea the paint on those are not bubbled, it's the reflection of the grease from my hands and the hub rebuild. It was pouring out today if it's clear tomorrow I will take better pics.

They are stainless steel (won't rust), and if you use the proper allen size it won't strip. If I am that worried about it I will put antiseize on them. The hub cover bolts are not torqued down that much.
I had them left over. I bought a bunch to do my valve cover on my project car. I think they are M6x1.0x20 http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...M/IMG_4218.jpg Only cost me like 20 cents/each for the ss allen bolt and washer. Mine's prettier :D A glimpse of Dejon 3" upper i/c pipe, 20g, pretty sure you can see the zex line in there, an one or two other "toys"... I miss that car :( |

I figured it was pointless to start a new thread on a old subject. So don't beat me for reviving a month old thread! lol.
http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/v...own/aisin2.jpg http://i686.photobucket.com/albums/v...rown/aisin.jpg I painted them charcoal on the dial to match my grill and bumpers I painted earlier in the year. Hard to see in the second pic. The shiny new bolts I picked up from Tacoma Screw made it look real nice!! |
^^ Looks good. i like how you cut the center cap to fit over the hub. I might have to do that.
|
The center cap came cut. I actually bored it out bigger to fit them over the Warns I had on there before. Now I will be looking for another pair of stock ones.
Like so...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...Q5fAccessories |
kiyobrown, I like the color scheme on yours! I may copy that if mine ever gets chipped up.
|
Hey thanks, I used the duplicolor rim paint in charcoal, I used it on my bumpers and my grill, so far after a year, there is one chip on the grill. Front bumper is still solid. figure it would work fine for this as well.:drink:
