Looking to replace torsion bars

I cant find many places that sell them any more. what I know: Downey, Northwest offroad, performance. I was hoping for more options with some better prices. I do not want to replace with OEM. any help here??????

mastacox 02-11-2007 11:34 AM

I dunno what the problem is, Downey still sells them...

SAW makes 'em.

swerks 02-11-2007 01:13 PM

I know who makes them, but where do I buy them. I did a search and many of the venders in the old posts no longer sell them. I know I can go to the three that I listed but Im looking for the better prices.

Doesn't Rancho make them?

I'm pretty sure I have Rancho Torsion bars on my rig. The truck once upon a time had a 4" rancho lift. Got hit, destroyed and A-arm. guy half assed the OEM suspenion back on it and left the aftermarket torsions on.. so im assuming rancho (they're red to).

..... no idea on vendors.

SAS.. ;)

I was talking with Nicole (owner of total chaos) she said the SAW torsion bars have been hard to get a hold of...ive got some still but they're in Washington, cant remember what i paid for them, took them off since i went C/O. Let me know if you want them, ill be there in 3 weeks.

Pay for my SAS and I'll ship mine overnight to you ;)

As far as I know there are
-- SAW
-- Rancho
-- SAW 300M

I dont think the two stage bar is around anymore..
Any 4x4 shop that deals in Rancho should be able to quote a Rancho price.. ORW or 4wheelparts?

OME bars - http://trdparts4u.com/PD-OME303003.aspx?MakeID=1 (they will fit 86-95)
Downey - http://downeyoff-road.com/Suspension...ents/index.htm

I have the OME on mine

Shoua 04-25-2007 07:46 PM

I just got Downey Off Road's torsion bars. OEM are 22.8mm, Downey's are 26mm. Haven't installed them yet. They are $158 per pair, shipping will vary. Mine total were about $180 with tax and shipped to northern California.

faubrunner64 04-25-2007 07:54 PM

Yeah downey still sells them for sure

norcalsvx 04-26-2007 07:28 AM

the 26mm bars are way to stiff, go with the OME's ( i got mine from TRD parts 4u)

WCorbett 04-28-2007 05:20 PM

i have the downey bars and at first they are stiff now after a weekend of highspeed desert they are great. when i get the BJ spacer they will get even better.

I dont' know how much the SAW now, but when I had IFS, I bought it for 99 bucks at 4wheel parts.
They don't have it on their website.....maybe they dont' sell them anymore....

PoleVaulter95 04-28-2007 09:38 PM
