interpreting AFM resistance readings

22re.

AFM failed. Vs to E2 readings out of spec relative to vane position (above 1000 ohms in most positions) also threw 2 codes, both for AFM temp sensor and AFM signal. sprayed with cleaner, but didn't do anything (i didn't expect it to fix it).

replaced the AFM with a rebuilt from A1. engine started up the best it has in a long time the next day - turned key to start, and it was running, as opposed to crank, crank, crank, run.

but that was it. has reverted to difficult starting after the one time. checked AFM readings prior to install, and resistances were in spec. now, although it is within "FSM" spec, the Vs to E2 reading is higher than the Vc to E2 reading at vane closed. according to 4crawler, that shouldn't be the case. also, the Vs to E2 reading at closed vane varies each time i open/close the vane. it seems to me the reading ought to be fairly consistent at closed position, rather than jumping around.

did i get a junk AFM, or did i fry it?
