Intake pipe

Referring to the conglomeration of rubber and plastic tubes between the AFM & throttle body. (K&N FPIC on there now.)
http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...IntakePipe.jpg
I was working on it the other day and see the rubber at the throttle body is showing signs that it's life may be ending soon. Plus I've done everything else on the planet to my shiny little turd, might as well finish it...

Is anyone making this? I saw the one thread, but it looks like that guy screwed a bunch of people and is out of business now.

Any one know were I can get such a thing off the shelf? or do I just have to bite the bullet and make one?

Maybe more trouble than it's worth, but you may find one in decent shape from a junkyard. If you don't know which one to call, I took a quick look at car-part.com for the closest thing they got on thier list, air box/air cleaner. I checked for SC area, several popped up. If they got those parts they probably got that hose. I looked under V6, didn't know.

Are you talking about the ISR mod? If so, I don't think anyone is makeing one at this time.

On second thought, after looking at an engine compartment fit for dining. Junkyard don't sound so appetizing.

I was really wanting to go with something a little more professional and one-piece looking.

Maybe I should be shopping for tubes and couplers on some turbo building site...

Yes, that's what I had in mind! :(

You could just temporarily make up one from Home Depot like the one guy in the thread. Search for something like ISR Mod PVC or something. When you have the angles just right you can stop at muffler shops and say, "Hey man how much for you to make me a piece like this right fast?" Maybe get him to drill the holes for you then you can fit the other hoses to it. You will have the experience from the temp. job.

I have a muffler pipe bender that'll do 3" pipe. Unfortunately muffler benders are compression benders, this distorts the tube on the inside of the radius, were I think we want a mandrel.

Looks to be a compound bend.

I thought maybe I could just buy this thing, but not so easy eh?
I think I'll sideline this idea until I get back on the cold air kit. I did most of the design work for this while my engine was out, just need to find the time to finish it and get it made. Reason being that this will locate the AFM, where the K&N kit doesn't set a very precise location.
I'll be doing this before the hot weather returns. I can notice a big difference in the hot weather when it has to breath all that underhood heat.

i used parts from a 300z intake and a sawzall and some cuplers off the 300z and mis. fittings . it works great

order one of these...Magnaflow 45* mandrel bend part number 10739
and get two rubber grommets from lowes, size 3/4OD x 7/16ID, and two half inch 90* hose barbs, 4 hose clamps that will fit a 3 inch pipe, and some couplings for the ends, cut the long end for fitment.

then you can have this and i think it looks pretty good.

myne too. i just took myne off today to reconnect a loose wire and it started cracking.

I think you can heat pvc to something close to 210 and that makes it bendable
fill it with hot wet sand to stop it from crinkling then heat and bend.
then you have the option to paint it if you want.
