IFS steering gear leaks

ok, my 4runner decided I haven't spent enough mony on it... my IFS steering gear starts to leak today. pretty badly. I have never rebuilt one of these. Is it worth it to rebuild, whats involved, or just buy a reman?
specs 89 V6 5sp 4runner

Clarifacation, its leaking from where the steering shaft inserts into the gear assembly

Where is it leaking from? If it is from the top adjuster nut, it may just be loose or the sealing washer is shot. Easy fix. If from one of the shaft seals, there is a rebuild kit available. I have an extra one, cost is $50, if interested.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes, I'm thinking about doing the same in the relatively near future.

update! 5 months later and several bottles of stop leak, I decide to fix it! thanks to the link by blknblu I felt pretty confident. Now instead of rebuilding the entire thing I just resealed the input shaft housing. Let me tell you the phrase "stacking greasy bb's " comes to mind.. 6 trys to get the sector shaft and bearings to fit without falling out and a ton of light axle grease. took a while about 3.5 hours total from start to stop, do-able but not my favorite job. especially when the fluid squirted me from my eybrows to my waist!

I do have to say in testimonial about rubberized undercoating.
When my truck was new in 1989 the owner had it under coated. when I pulled the bolts they were still gold annodized with no corrosion at all. I also found the body mount bolts to be the same. 17 years later and no rust or corrosion of any kind on my rig. good stuff
