how stupid was I? fuel siphon
After my rebuild and a test drive I had a lot of valve tick or detonation, I dont know I was starting to try and figure that out. My first guess is that I might need to run a higher octane. When the gasket blew I had just filled the tank. I needed to drain the fuel out so I dont have to run the engine. I used a juggle siphon to drain it out, not thinking of the drain plug on the tank.
When I pulled the siphon out the hose came but the brass head pulled off and is now in the tank. I really dont want to drop the tank but Im going to if I have to.
Is it going to plug or damage anything to leave it in there?

there is a baffle around where the fuel pump picks up. Unless it fell in there I wouldn't worry and even if it did I doubt it would hurt anything.
There is a sock on the end of the fuel pump.

I don't think it'll do any damage. It's not like dropping a nut into your engine where there are moving parts. The gas tank has nothing in it but a fuel pump and gasoline. The fuel pump has a big filter on it and the brass won't do it any harm. I'd say leave it in there and if you ever have the tank out for another reason then you might as well remove the little brass piece.
