I pulled a Jeep out of a river with my old subaru legacy. I had to wheel it to get to him haha thats just one more reason not to buy a Heep

I usually rescue 1-2 a day in the summer. Beach driving is not like mud bogging. Tire spin gets you no where fast.....

hmmwv15 11-26-2007 01:16 PM

older ford f150 - huge bulky truck got stuck in the mud.
newer ford ranger -twice the size of my truck- out of the mud around three times.
Helped pull an 80's blazer out of a ditch.

does rescueing cute damsiles in distress (dis-dress) who ran out of gas/needed a boost count? if so about 5 or 6 so far... actually only about 3 of them where cute (damsiles) the rest were guys who goofed up...

toy283 11-26-2007 03:15 PM

I dragged a dead Hummer H1 from the first obstacle of Holy Cross back to the trailhead. The moron managed to thrash both diffs and no less than three CV joints.

MudHippy 11-26-2007 04:26 PM

A few(but it's usually me that needs pulled out, and generally not so much the trucks fault either when that's the case:redface:).

4x4 GMC Jimmy stuck in about 3.5" of snow.

Some dumbass kid and his little Mazda whatever it was out of the ditch he slid into.

And, my personal favorite, a 4x4 Nissan pickup high-centered on a rock about the size of a bowling ball.

I helped out my buddy's 87' T4R and my other buddy's 93' Range Rover last week at Oceano Dunes.

I helped my buddy's 05' Tacoma out the mud hole at Hollister Hills.

I tried to help a 80's k5 Blazer stuck down to the axle in a mud hole along side a forrest service road in Arnold a couple years ago but it was too muddy. After trying and just spinning my tires a few times, I just gave them a ride home.

I know what it's like to be stuck so I try to return the favor as much as possible!!!

TRD_JW 11-26-2007 04:46 PM

1997 ford ranger 2wd on a regular basis its my dads but this year we have had no rain so he hasent goten stuck lately

also i quit trying to pull another yota out after i smelled clutch but around here if you hear a toyota is stuck you better have a winch because when they get stuck there stuck and you can almost never get to where thier at its so bad

that why i dont get a winch you become a towing service

Justinvd 11-26-2007 04:54 PM

Only 1 in my 4runner = a 92 extended cab ranger that go high center

idayota 11-26-2007 05:01 PM

last one was an isuzu rodeo stuck in the bottom of a ravine...we were on a service road on our way to the trail head when my buddy had to stop to take a leak. he was peeing over the edge when he realized there were guys down in the bottom. we spent 3 hours of our good wheeling time pulling those ya-hoo's out...oh, well. we have a good story. looking back on it though, that was a start to a bad day...we got shot at (guys on another mountain top doing target practice or something sending bullets right over our freakin heads!!!) and a guy in our group got ran over...rough day. maybe we shoulda let the dudes in the rodeo call a wrecker and the rest of our day may have been better...

95RunnerSR5 11-26-2007 05:11 PM

The only rigs I can remember rescuing are JEEPS

haha needless to say I have been pulled by a jeep b4 too hahaha

82yota 11-26-2007 05:33 PM

Only one I can remember was a Dodge extended cab long box 4x4 2500 gas what somehow dug a hole in the mud and broke his front DS. I let him hook the truck up and he had no tow points so he wrapped it around his front axle. This was with my 82. And also with chain. I know not good but everything else broke. But I jerked him out and he was happy. Nothing yet with my diesel but I'm sure it'll happen sometime soon as it is snowing again.

DIHOWARD 11-26-2007 05:42 PM

first time out.

racedirt1 took me to a local spot and within say 5 minutes had himself axle deep in some really thick mud. we bothe have reciever shackles so i backed up and he got out this strap. actually i think it was some sort of ratcheting tie-down. well I got him out rather easily. i was surprised because i have a V6. I just remembered reading about recovery Horror stories of 100mph flying recovery hardware. Needless too say I purchased a real strap at the local 4x4 shop.

x-man 11-26-2007 06:44 PM
