how many miles do you get to a tank?

Filled my 4runner up for the first time, it only took 12.5gallons, tiny tanks on these things, how many miles should I expect on a tank? May have to think about gas cans or another tank for hunting trips?

well, filled it up once since posting this, got just over 16mpg, mostly city/driving to work (alot of idling to warm up), Im pretty happy! It has more power than I expected, and gets great mpg's! Just was curious what to expect.

Got about 215 miles to the last tank before it was near E

I was getting roughly 180 to 200 miles in my 82 until I yanked out the tiny 13 gallon tank and put in a 16 gallon one. Now I am getting about 250.

1987 4x4 standard cab shortbed 22R. Over 280 miles pure highway, and about 200 miles all city driving. I average about 230 miles of mixed.

It seems as if most 3.0 5sp 4x4's get around 14-16mpg and the turd 3.0 auto 4x4 get 10-12 on the reg...mine got dead on 10mpg but I hope to double that with the v8.

It's a little small so if you can't read it. It's 17.74 mpg average. That's 4.10 gears, manual, 22re, 31's. If I got new gears I'm sure I could do better.

Best MPG was just over 21, worst was 13ish.

I've been keeping these records for 37,000 miles and 6 years. Never missed a tank.

Guess I should add, that with the correction for the larger tires I get roughly 250-280 per tank. If I run down until the fuel light comes on and stays on I can get 16 gallons in it.

Gas mileage

I have an 89 Toyota pickup with the 3.0 engine.

I rock 32" tires and a 4" body lift

Gas tank is 16 gallons total
...and i get 23 HW and 15 in town.

A few factors:
Ditch your AC!
Drive like an angel
Routine checkups (myself)

I guess i have a hard time figuring out why everyone else is getting 16mpg highway with this engine. Mine towed an 87 dodge pickup 78 miles up and down the rocky mtns. Got 18 hw still and faired well on the inclines. Maybe I got lucky? Lol. Elevation? 7000+
