How many Litres/Quarts coolant 22RE?
Going to change a couple rad hoses this weekend and want to double check with you guys the amount of coolant needed. I've already got a 2 jugs at 3.89L each and my manual said 8.4L for manual tranny 22RE. Can anyone confirm this please? Also should I flush out the system and if so can I just use a garden hose for the flush? Is there any trick to it...or should I just drain and refill? Thanks.

It's always a good to flush the system when you're going to refresh the coolant. Atleast, I think so, and so do many others. Keep the system healthy when you have an aluminum head and iron block.
Research backflushing the cooling system. Prestone makes an inexpensive kit for doing so. A garden hose will work for sure. Just drain all that you can out of the block so you are using only distilled water in the coolant mix. On that note, Mt. Goat has a good way he does it. Might send a PM to him.
You only need one gallon of coolant and one of distilled water. Or, two gallons of 50/50 premix. Don't know what the volume converts to in liters, but there are online conversion charts.
Hope this helps.

Just did this today. I didn't bother draining the block, so instead, I just drained the rad, filled it up with water, took the truck for a quick spin to operating temps, then drained it, repeat once more, then pored in 4L of antifreeze and topped it up with tap water.
With regards to tap versus distilled water; if you live in an area with hard water, then use distilled, if not, tap water is fine I'm told. I used tap water.

I usually just drain, flush with water, drain again, flush and drain again. THen I use premixed and fill till the rad is full, run the truck then wait and burp it then fill till it cant take anymore.
Hasnt failed me once..
