how hard would this be?

The 3.0 is a good engine. They just need proper care and maintenance. They do not like to be overheated or run low on oil. Its just not as forgiving as a 22re. If I was a broke college student, I'd rather have a 4 cyl. Is your truck drivable? How bad is the frame? Why not just wait until a truck with a blown 22re comes up for sale. Theres a clean 95 with a broken timing chain for sale here for $750. Maybe a deal will turn up closer to home.

My truck is driveable, and thanks for that tidbit about the 3.0. Ill post a pic or two of the frame to show ya guys what it looks like. Im mainly doing this so i can have better driveability. And believe me i would, but nobody around me drives these things, the only ones i can find are the 2000 models

I did think of one more thing, the combination meter(instrument panel). Meaning, you might want/have to use your current one in the donee vehicle, if you were to decide to put your engine in it. Then again, they might be the same in both vehicles, or close enough that it doesn't matter. Regardless, most(if not all) of them can be easily modified to work with either engine.
I just thought I'd mention it because there might be a difference there. So don't be too surprised if there is. And don't worry too much about what to do about it should that be the case, since it's a relatively easily solved problem .
