Hot wiring the A/C Compressor

About 10 years a go I had my A/c changed over to r134 and drove it from California to North Carolina. About 8 years ago the head gasket started failing, So I just drove me other truck.
About a year a go I rebuilt it. Now the A/c is not engaging I found a blown fuse under the glove box but I think i popped it when I was messing with the switch. I put in a new fuse and its not blowing.

Its a 1986 sr5 I tried jumping the Low Pressure switch, But that had no effect on engaging the magnetic clutch, I might of even did the wrong one. So I want to just try and add some 134a. I got a can of pro something or another and it has a gage on it. What I want to do is hook it up to the low side and see is its 30+ psi. ( I think it was 30Psi) I don't want to buy a set of gauges for a 1 time use. But I heard you need the compressor running to add 143a. I can turn it by hand and I heard gurgling at the sight window bit I don't see anything.

So is this the wire I connect to the Positive side of the battery to engage the magnetic clutch? Also It looks like a fuse-able link is that right?

And is the bottom plug on the right the one you Jump to by pass the Low Pressure switch?

Here is the wiring stuff.

Ok I put a little R134 in and it kicked on. Now I just need to get a set of gauges ( Good to have for the future i guess.) And I will see whats up. It is not cooling nor is the lines getting cold . Im think it needs more Freon. So I added it when the engine was off. Because the FSM says not to add liquid Freon to the low presser side. But I think if I add it slowly it will be ok if the engine and compressor is running.

You can get gauges and a vacuum pump from auto zone rent a tool program. You pay for the tools up front but get the full amount back when you return them. You can also get the small cans of R134 from there in cans
