Today I cleaned her up, as much as she'll clean. =)


Pretty much the only major change I did this summer was install the ToolBox, and put in a dual battery setup.




And the controls for it. This could obviously still use a bit of clean up.



I've never posted pictures before, so I suppose a few more couldn't hurt?

Heres one of the ISR mod, I used a thread (can't remember which) for the link to order this "kit" to use.



I've had problems keeping the motor clean, which is odd since she's a daily driver, hardly ever sees offroad action or even dirt roads. I actually cleaned and degreased the whole thing a few weeks ago.

Heres one of how I just recently *remounted* the cb Much better than how it use to be in there, sorry no pictures. And for those of you cleaver enough, to notice there was no antenna, the antenna is laying in the bed of my truck, I'm working on a nicer way of mounting it than I previously had also.





I think that's all I've got to share, she still needs some work. Ran some seafoam though it today and was disappointed, no smoke. No Idle improvement. I think I need to adjust the TPS to fix some of those problems. She also needs a new lower valence and a grill. Dent free tailgate would work great too. =) I want to get some roll on bedliner for the bed, and eventually a fresh coat of paint.

It's hard to say really if ISR mod gave any improvements, I did it the same weekend I had the flowmaster put on and new exhaust pipe run. But I can say with the two of them on the only noticeable difference was that my truck didn't feel like it wanted to bog down when going up a steep hill. It had vast improvement in that regard, but that's the only difference I noticed.

Nice rig! I would suggest going to Wal Maet or somesuch and picking up a plastic marine style battery box. That will contain any bat juice that might spill out.

looks good, love the battery in the bed chest (noted). Man i sometimes wish i had a standard again ( my old neon was a standard, loved that thing), but the wife cant(wont more like it) drive it.

i think i have that same black tool box in my truck!

I'd considered getting a battery box, might end up getting some sparks pulling the black toolbox out of the back. Something for a different day I suppose.

so what make is the cb? i've been stalling on putting in my old one--too big. this may be the solution, chuckin' the ashtray.

The CB is a Midland 1001z

The kit I ordered off summit racing, and I got the link for it pouring thourgh this site about info on the ISR mod (someone else suggested and gave link for the kit). I know it wasn't for our exact vehicle but some sort of intake tube for toyota motors. Sorry my search abilities have failed me I couldn't dig it back up.

I am thinking of doing the same thing you did with your cb. What modifications did you do to get it to fit?

Got your PM too. It was very little work, took ashtray out, then there are white plastic things on the side that the ashtray slides onto, unscrew and remove those, then you can put the Midland 1001z in, and it'll stay just by the pressure of being wedged in there. Last thing you have to do is cut off a small (cb shaped) piece of plastic behind the ashtray so it'll go in deep enough.

Thats some good work I like it. I think you still need to do one more thing, you need to buff that paint it is really oxidized. I think that paint would look awesome with a little attention. Keep us posted.
