i've always been a fan of the dick cepeck dc-1 black

Joe's Toy 06-15-2007 03:38 PM

I like the procomp. Agressive looking and probilly stronger then the American racing ones... Just my two cents! I thought you guys were calling them the "dick cepeck" because of the shape of the cut out... (Mind in the gutter sorry..)

shugashaft 06-15-2007 04:26 PM

im leaning towards the pro comp myself i just wanted someone elses input

bigtrucknwheels 06-15-2007 04:34 PM

def. the pro comp. how much are they gonna run you?

HuskyRunner 06-15-2007 04:35 PM

#2! I like it.

shugashaft 06-15-2007 04:45 PM

$123.00 a wheel 16x8 and probably the maxxis buckshot 265/75R16 tires that are $125.00 a tire

yoterr 06-15-2007 05:09 PM

if u get 16.5 x 10 you can get some military 35" or 36" tires of ebay for like 260 for all four:eeek: just my thoughts

GM TURBO 06-18-2007 07:46 AM

I like the American Racing. I prefer the all black instead of combo.

DC wheel

FrmrJPGuy 06-18-2007 08:56 AM

I would go with either the Pro Comp or the DC.

dropzone 06-18-2007 09:14 AM

Go with the procomp, the third wheel looks like it belongs on an accord:eeek:
Personally I like the Mojave Teflon for an all black wheel:

I really like the look of those wheels, but does the coating have trouble handling rock rash?

My truck's black with black wheels. Great look on these trucks. ocdropzone's example of wheels would honestly look the best on your trucks (in my opinion)

I just bought 5 new Pro Comps 7089s yesterday.
I got the last 5 in a 17x8 for the next two months before they get more.

They will be mounted up to new 285x70x17 Dick Cepek Mountaincats like I have now.

Going to run both sets, the new ones will be for spring through fall, and the older ones will be on during the winter months.

I saw them on an FJ Cruiser at the Greenwater run, and they look great.
Here they are on another FJ.

They may have your size, they only had 5 left in my size which I snaged up fast.

I wish they made this wheel in 16X8, but the smallest size is 17x10:

I almost went with the first Pro Comp wheels pictured. Ended up going with the Mojave Teflons. The Teflon surface does scratch easier than I would of thought and last time I tried to get some touch up paint from AR, they did not have anything available for the Teflon wheels.

I like the American Racing Trench wheels and Pro Comp wheels Corey pictured.

The FJ with the Hi-Lift jack on the roof was the rig I saw on our Greenwater run.
As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted them.

Some have gone for the AR Chambers in Teflon, but I like the beadlock'ish look of the Pro Comp better.

Pro Comps are powdercoated, ARs are Teflon.

Here are the Thugs on an FJ, I also saw this same FJ at the Greenwater run Saturday.

From what I have read over at the big FJ forum is that AR is having a QC issue right now with some of their Teflon wheels, and the Chambers are on back order.

That is why the guy with the silver FJ I saw with the Pro Comps went with the 7089s like I ordered.

the_gunslinger 07-24-2007 11:58 AM

procomp kichs ass. so do the american racing wheels right above.

Corey 07-24-2007 12:09 PM

Oh another thing.
I got mine from 4wdparts who owns Pro Comp for $129 each, a little less than what it shows on their site.

Why did I not let Les Schwab my local tire dealer get them for me?
4WD Parts wanted to charge Les Schwab Tires $209 each!
Reason is they are competitors.
It was cheaper for me to mail order them even with shipping to my home.
