My dash vents don't blow a lot of air, even on full blast. It also doesn't seem to blow hot air like it should. In my truck, I have a rear vent that blows lots of air and very hot. That's the one I use most of the time. When I accelerate sometimes, I can hear fluid behind the dash whirling around, possibly air pockets in the lines or maybe heater core is clogged? A friend of mine told me that my blower fan might be clogged too? Does any of that sound right? Is the rear vent on a different setup?

What would cause my dash vents to not blow air like they should? And why isn't it getting hot like it should?

Stick your head under the center of the dash and look for disconnected linkage. I the same problem and it turned out that the linkage connecting the hot/cold lever to one of the valves was busted off. The valve was barely letting any coolant into the core.

My vents were the same, except I didn't get the surging and gurgling from behind the dash. What remedied my problem was a full coolant and heater core flush. I also switched to the red coolant. Draining the radiator, flushing the block with water, then disconnecting the hoses to the heater core, which is a bit of a pain, and running a hose through each end. But after those flushes, after the car has gotten to normal operating temps, the vents blow very hot, I now have to actually turn the heat down to stay comfortable.
Just something that may or may not help. Good luck fixing it.

Take off your rad cap and disconnect a return hose from the fire wall and burp he coolant. Get a air line and blast some air in it. Just quick little farts...alot of times your Heaters heatshrink has crystal formed the in piping going in by the coolant. Esp if you use that Dexron Long Life stuff. (Theres a massive lawsuit right now with General Motors about how this coolant is causing alot of problems with thier Crysler line of vechiles.) By burping in the opposite direction you'll brake the crystallization thats been formed in the direction of flow.

mine had the same problem i took out the blower motor, and it was caked in dirt and dust! you might need to replace that.

not blowing hot air is usually a sign of bad t-state or low fluid.

Mines doing the same thing. Sometimes the heater blows pretty hard but sometimes i need more. Im going to look at the linkages but i think my problem is the t-stat. The truck only goes up about an 1/8 of the way and when im on the highway it coold off some.Im just scared to get a hotter one cause in the summer id like it to run cooler.
