Head gasket to get locally?
Hey folks, we've made a mistake putting my 3VZE together, and we need to remove the driver's side head again, and we're looking for a quality gasket that we can source locally? Can anyone vouch for the FelPro 9815PT or does anyone have a p/n for one that could be sourced locally?

I understand, I will be working with the victor reinz in this case. I've seen a couple people vouch for them, and its the same style I put on from engbldr (non OEM, but highly recommended here. They are stellar, replied to my email within minutes, professional, etc). Graphic with steel core, which is supposedly good for steel/alum mix. Also, this is the driver side, not hotter passenger side *Crosses fingers*

Drivers side seem to be hotter IMOP because that's where the cross over meets right at the #6 cylinder. That's why #5 exhaust valves and #6 exhaust valves seem to be the first to fail.
Toyota does have a updated PN for the OEM head gaskets. This is the 3rd version from what I understand and seems to be pretty durable. Let us know how your new gasket works out. I would definitely stay away from gel pro head gaskets personally.

EDIT: Autozone..screw autozone. Website lied. No nearby Victor Heinz. Only one is in STL. There goes this weekend. Pushed back another week...FFS. Assuming I shouldn't reuse the graphite HG I just put on.

just do the old fashion thing and call around
google "auto parts near me" and call down the list. You may get lucky like me and have a local import only auto parts store and they will have the parts you need. Which I only found out about a couple weeks ago when I was calling around for cold start gasket.
Even if u are stuck waiting a week it's not the end of the world maybe take the time to tackle another small project you been putting off or PM (i.e. Go thro with grease gun and lube everything and/or replace all fluids that are often overlooked diffs, t-case etc) or clean the engine bay!

Ok. I've got one more dealership to call. I'll look for other shops. The biggest issue is that this is my only car. I've been borrowing rides all summer.

Yes I have for my wife's Toyota Avalon - air intake surge tank OEM Toyota gaskets and it cost us $60 for UPS 2nd Day Air shipping since we live in Hawaii. I believe it would be cheaper where you are stateside. Give them a call for a shipping quote.
